TURKEY / SYRIA : Appeal for donations

Published on 11.03.2023

Monaco, 22/02/2023 : To deliver aid to the Turkish and Syrian people and to combat insecurity, funding for humanitarian action is vital.

Since the violent earthquake that occurred in Turkey and Syria, the IFRC has launched two emergency appeals to support the various national Societies on site, with a combined value of 650 million Swiss Francs.

For its part, the Monaco Red Cross has released €100,000 from its own funds to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in support of the Turkish and Syrian Red Crescent.

It has also launched an appeal for donations which can be made:

  • by cheque (payable to the Monaco Red Cross – TURKEY/SYRIA)
  • or by cash to be left at the offices of the Monaco Red Cross – 27 bd de Suisse, 98000 Monaco (tel. +377 97 97 68 00).
  • via the website www.croix-rouge.mc, selecting “Turkey/Syria” on the online donation page
  • or by bank transfer (bank details available on our website page dedicated to donations).

Why is it important to make financial donations as a matter of urgency?

The delivery of goods in kind such as clothing and food takes a lot of time and some areas are difficult to reach. By dispatching resources immediately, we are able to help the local Red Crosses and Red Crescents that provide care to families by buying essential items on site, thus addressing the real needs of the population.
