Support efforts in Lebanon : CRM launches a public appeal for donations
Published on 03.10.2024Monaco 02/10/2024 : Since 8th October 2023, the escalating conflict in the Middle East has severely affected daily life in Lebanon, in particular along its southern borders, and has now spread to the north of the Beqaa Valley, in Baalbek-Hermel and Beirut. In less than 48h, over 500,000 people have been displaced following the hostilities impacting essential services in the south of the country.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) and the Lebanese Red Cross are extremely concerned by the situation and its impact on communities. The Monaco Red Cross has pledged to provide financial support in order to meet humanitarian needs.
Displacements, economic hardship and the constant threat of a conflict are affecting displaced persons who are suffering among other things from a shortage of water, food and emergency care. The Lebanese Red Cross is actively working to implement an effective response. Over 254 ambulances have been deployed to provide first aid.
Given the urgency of the situation, at the request of its President, H.S.H. Prince Albert II, the Monaco Red Cross is launching a public appeal for donations. To join the efforts of the Monaco Red Cross, you too can make a donation.
Log on to : www.croix-rouge.mc/en/i-donate/
or by cheque to the Monaco Red Cross – Lebanon – 27 Boulevard de Suisse, 98000 Monaco
All donations will be transferred to the IFCR and ICRC and will be used to cope with the growing needs of the people affected by the conflict.
Our heartfelt thanks for your generosity.
