World Red Cross Day: The Monaco Red Cross opens its doors to the public

On 8^th May, the anniversary of the birth of Henry Dunant, we will be celebrating World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (WRCD), the values of the Red Cross, and the humanitarian spirit that inspires us. This year’s theme: “Keeping Humanity Alive” / “Garder l’humanité en vie”.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the largest humanitarian network in the world with 191 countries, bringing together over 16 million volunteers for the benefit of humankind.

From 11 am to 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday 8^th May at the association’s headquarters, join us for the Monaco Red Cross Open Day, where you will have the opportunity to meet our teams and find out more about our local and international activities. Volunteers, employees, institutional partners and the general public are expected to take part.

The Monaco Red Cross is keen to familiarise and make the public aware of the principles and humanitarian values of the Red Cross Movement through stands, exclusive Red Cross videos and engaging talks by humanitarian professionals. The event will also be punctuated by a briefing on the last humanitarian rescue mission in the Mediterranean Sea by one of our members.

Several stands will be accessible to discover the various actions implemented by CRM, including those dedicated to our international activities and humanitarian projects. You will also have the opportunity to meet the teams who run our social projects, as well as health and prevention activities… There will be a first-aid demonstration for those who would like to learn basic first-aid techniques.
