On Tuesday 21st October in the late morning, the Monegasque Red Cross (CRM) received Mr Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Welcomed by H.S.H. Prince Albert II, President of the CRM and members of the Executive Committee, Mr Maurer visited CRM headquarters.

After a presentation of CRM’s local and international activities, the delegation headed towards the Hotel Hermitage for a working lunch with representatives of the Government of Monaco. Following these professional exchanges, the ICRC, the Government and the CRM agreed on 3 main cooperation areas :
- The implementation of dialogue between the Government of Monaco and the CRM which plans to increase two-fold the amount that the CRM will donate in response to emergency appeals launched by the ICRC to support its action in aid of the populations affected by war and other violent situations.
- The realisation of an ICRC- CRM cooperation agreement regarding first aid in the Sahelian region.
- The CRM agreed to continue its multifaceted support for the ICRC Special Fund for the Disabled (SFD) which provides care for the victims of armed conflict.
These exchanges and dialogue will facilitate the approaches, joint actions and promotion of the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent as a long-standing and key player in impartial and independent humanitarian action in times of current conflict.
