The Monegasque Red Cross announces its flagship event and street sale on Saturday 30th May 2015
Following the success of the last two editions of “World Red Cross Day” in 2013 and 2014, the Monegasque Red Cross will be holding its flagship event once again on Saturday 30th May 2015 at the Espace Léo Ferré in Fontvieille.
The day will provide the public with the opportunity not only to pick up a good bargain at the traditional sale, but also to meet benevolent members of the Monegasque Red Cross who work for the benefit of the most vulnerable in Monaco and elsewhere.
Last year, a total of 55,000 Euros was raised at the event and was used to train and fit out seven emergency brigades in Niger that provide support for victims and displaced people in the areas bordering Nigeria, currently threatened by high levels of violence.
The proceeds from this year will also go towards equipment and training for the relief teams in Niger, as well as in other countries of West Africa, via a major sub-regional programme launched last month by the Monegasque Red Cross and based in Burkina Faso. It is with this goal in mind that the Monaco Pavilion at the Universal Exposition in Milan 2015 will be completely dismantled and re-assembled in this country in order for it to become part of a large multi-purpose training centre which will be opening in 2017.
If you would like to contribute to this special day by promoting the event, donating items or providing financial support, please contact the Monegasque Red Cross
