With the impact of the coronavirus crisis, Monaco Red Cross social services are more than ever supporting those in need.

Monaco, 29/04/2020 – During lockdown, Monaco Red Cross’s social services have remained open with a skeleton staff. Cases dealt with by this department are examined at a weekly social meeting which decides:

  • To provide financial assistance to help pay rent, electricity bills, canteen bills etc…
  • To hand out service vouchers for dietary needs

To allocate, if appropriate, emergency aid in the form of a food parcel.

The clothing department is shut for the moment. Consequently, no clothes can be dropped off at the Monaco Red Cross for the time being.

Restrictions imposed by coronavirus – Covid 19 control measures have meant that the social services have had to change the way in which they operate. A form is available to those who wish to request financial support. Appointments over the phone are still running, as is reception for users.

The number of requests is increasing over time. Individuals who had never experienced financial hardship until now, are seeking help at this difficult time.

Within the context of this exceptional health crisis, Monaco Red Cross’s social services are more than ever working to help susceptible individuals and those recently made vulnerable.

You can also contribute towards our actions by making a donation to the Monaco Red Cross via its website: www.croix-rouge.mc, or by cheque payable to the Monaco Red Cross, bank transfer or in cash.
