In the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, President of the Monegasque Red Cross, and H.S.H. Princess Charlene, the 66th Monegasque Red Cross Gala took place on Friday 1st August 2014 in the magical setting of the Salle des Etoiles at the Monte Carlo Sporting where, in a white and mirrored decor, bouquets of Arlequin roses mingled with sprays of hydrangeas.
The 800 guests eagerly awaited the arrival of the Royal Couple – and just before 10 p.m. the assembly rose to give a warm welcome to Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, radiant in her midnight blue dress which gave an indication of her silhouette of a future mum. The programme included a gourmet dinner, a tombola with superb prizes and a jazzy concert performed by the Canadian singer and pianist Diana Krall.
As usual, the Royal Couple opened the ball: against the groovy vibes of the group Freshlyground, Prince Albert did a few dance steps with Princess Charlene.
At around 1 a.m. the first plumes of the firework display illuminated the Monegasque sky – a spectacular conclusion to this beautiful Gala evening.
On this occasion, the patrimony of the Monegasque Red Cross gained a new piece of work. The sculptor and humanist, Mateo Mornar, who wanted to honour the Princess’s motherhood, created a sculpture of “Gaia”, the Mother Goddess in Greek mythology.
The Monegasque Red Cross would like to thank all the participants and guests who, through their presence and support, helped to make the evening such a success. »
